I am a life long resident of Charlottesville having graduated from Lane High School and the University of Virginia. My hobbies include sports, computers and music with music being number one. I started playing trumpet in 1954 in elementary school, continued through high school and my military stint as a trumpet player in the 392 Army Band at Fort Lee Virginia. I played in several local bands over the years including the Ray Caddell Swing Orchestra and Salute to Swing. I am a life member of the Municipal Band of Charlottesville with over 50 years of service. I have served on the board of the Municipal Band for 6 years in the late 80’s and early 90’s where I was instrumental in obtaining the property to build our present buildingI have played for seven US Presidents, the Queen of England, the start of the Lewis and Clark Expedition Celebration, Browns Island in Richmond, VA, Rocking At the Station in Staunton, Fridays After Five in Charlottesville, Las Vegas, Washington DC, Saint Simons Island, the Homestead, the Greenbrier and many clubs in the Charlottesville Area.
I started my real estate career in December of 1980 with Real Estate III after teaching in the Albemarle County School System. After 13 years, I left Real Estate III to form a team with another agent where we sold over 12 million dollars in less than 2 years in the early to mid 90’s.. After an 8 year stint with the other company, I returned home to Real Estate III in February of 2004.
I pride myself on the quality of service I give, having won the prestigious Century 21 Quality Service Award in 2002 where only 5% of the Century 21 agents receive this award. I have been called a “hand holding realtor” by one former client. One who guides you through every step of the selling, purchasing and closing procedures. I have worked with first time purchasers, sellers, transfers in and out of the area, doctors, professors and anyone who is in need of a Realtor’s service.
With 32 years of real estate experience, computer and technology literate and being a life long resident of the Albemarle/Charlottesville area, I can offer the service required to reach my service goal. As a former mathematics teacher in the Albemarle County School System, financing plans, negotiating and knowledge of the school systems in the area, give me the expertise to answer the majority of your questions.
